Onshore South Louisiana
NiMin Energy holds numerous non-operated interests in producing properties and acreage in the southern onshore region of the state of Louisiana. The company currently produces oil and natural gas from wells in St. Landry, Jefferson Davis, Vermillion, and Acadia Parishes. The production, acreage, and prospects are managed by various independent oil and natural gas operating companies and coordinated through various joint venture agreements. Although the company initially built its production and reserve base in Louisiana, there are no plans for future drilling or major capital expenditures in Louisiana.
Legacy has a 48.25% working interest in 2,500 acres located on the northwest flank of the Krotz Springs Field in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. The field contains numerous pay zones between 6,400 feet and 11,000 feet. The Krotz Springs Field has produced over one trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 20 million barrels of oil and condensate (as reported by IHS). To date, Legacy has participated in three productive wells, all of which targeted the Sparta sands and continue to produce from the Sparta sands. Additional development wells will be needed to fully exploit the oil and gas resources over Legacy's 2,500 acres in this field.
